Is this last name russian or german?

Tropin

Is this last name russian or german?
sounds Russian, but don't take my word for it.
Reply:Sounds French to me
Reply:Another avenue to explore is the US Census, which is available through Ancestry.com. You can look for people of that name and see where they (and often their parents) were born.
Reply:It looks German to me.

Russian names, that i know, ususally end in some sort of "i".

like the ending ski
Reply:Some people went "Detective" on finding you an answer flight's passenger logs etc....FREAKS!!! Some scary scary people out there.
Reply:There are about 27 Tropins on the different passenger lists. About 95% of those came from Russia, sailing from the port of Vladivostok.

The minority sailed from Bremen, Germany.
Reply:Russo, Russian. must probably.
Reply:German I would say
Reply:I couldn't find any meaning for the name, but www.familysearch.org has it listed in these places:

France; Prussia; Barbados, Caribbean; Georgia Republic, Ussr; Venezuela, S. America; Italy; and in the US in Maryland , New York, %26amp; Wisconsin.
