Hmm, well, my husband is German and his first name is Stefan, so that won't work. But also, Markus, Martin, Rainer (which is pronounced RYEner, not RAINer), Andreas and Lukas are all pretty nice for boys. A lot of the Germans we know though have names that are the same in English, like Thomas and Daniel.

Lots of good ones. My favorite is my late Great-uncle Heinrich (called Hank outside of family). Jakob was also popular. I also like Alarick (or Alaric), Wolfe and Geoff.
