A german name?

Is the name Christel Talaska a german name?

A german name?
Christel is German but not Talaska.

Know many Christel but no 'Kristel' here in Germany. But some Germans have foreign names from their ancestors..

Probably some families with the name Talaska are living in Germany...but the origin of the name is not German
Reply:Not at all.
Reply:no, it would be Kristel, german doesn't use the "ch" combo for the hard "k" sound.
Reply:No...it would be Kristel if it was german..and Talaska is definetely not german.
Reply:Christel is the pet name for Christina, a German girl name.

Talaska surname is found in Germany (Prussia and Hungaria)
Reply:Never heard the name "Talaska" here (I'm in the south), but "Christel" is definitely very german. And while it's really spoken like a K (like all words that begin with CH), I've never heard or read of a girl that's written Kristel. And really, it looks more than strange. The people who claim the K were right either have no clue of german or don't know how to write it!
Reply:Christel is a German name. Talaska has possibly its origin in Russia, Poland, Ukraina... But others were wrong, that Christel is written wit "K", that's wrong. This name is pronounced as "Kristel", but the "CH" is used as usual.
