What or where does the name Steiff Bears the German bears that can cost a small fortune.?
You are paying for the name and history.
Similar to cars, pay loads for a Jaguar, or much less for a Ford, as they are the same underneath.
Reply:Started by Margaret Steiff in 1880 in Germany. There are also the Hermann Bears from Germany who are also very collectible.
There are whole books written about these bears. Good question
