German name "Armin" ending on -min(old for "man"). Why some muslim boys麓names (Emin, Jasmin) also end on -min?

Is there any connection? What does -min mean in these names?

it is not related to that german root you ve mentioned but these are from arabic language....."min" has not its seperate meaning in arabic..u ve mentioned "emin"its "ameen" and it means "the person who likes peace" as in arabic , the word "aman" is used.

and the word "jasmin" is in english,in arabic it is "yaasmeen" which is the name of the flower. So jasmin and yasmeen are same in meaning... reply me if u want my contact...iman_sheikh_2003@yahoo.com
Reply:I do not know how much you can rely on the explanation of the Arabic names, but I do know that you are mistaken as to the German name 'Armin'. This goes back to the Germanic god 'Irmin' and it means something like 'under the protection of that god'; since in old times names very often were given as a kind of magic charm, an amulet so to speak, "Armin" was something like wishful thinking: may this child be safe under Irmin.
Reply:armin and jasmin and amin are diffrent .amin means honest.jasmin is a flower.armin is an iranian ancient name that means goal.so min is not a suffix .iranians and germans are old families (ariaians).armin may be their common name.
