1920 census has a family of 7. Head of household born in Ireland. Now that doesn't prove anything. A lot of Germans immigrated to Britain or Ireland before coming to the U. S.
Actually origins of names are not important in genealogy and the same name can come from more than one nationality.
If this is your family name the best thing to do is to trace your Kuffrey line back to your immigrant ancestor. Anytime you wish to do this there are lots of people on this board that can give you some great tips and ideas. Just ask.
