Can you use a countries name for a company name. Example: German Muffin Guys or Italy Boots Productions.?

Or if you go to Bahamas you will see lot's of shirts that say Different Island Same ****. Would it be legal to use that as our company name? It's almost like a gray area.

Yes, you should be able to so long as no one else has that name. If you are in the U.S., you will need to go to the county clerks office in the county in which you want to do business. You will need to file a "DBA" which is a 'doing business as' form. In order to do that, you search their computer records to make sure no one else has that business name. Then you pay your money and you have your new business name.

That is usually all there is to it.
